Ahmed Fadamm met Dick Gordon when he worked as his fixer and translator in Baghdad. Ahmed is a scuptor, but he had to set that work aside when the war came. His series of diaries for The Story, sent from Baghdad, has won the Gold World Medal - Longform, Ongoing News Story from New York Festivals 2007 International Broadcasting Awards. View a pdf file of all the winners here. Additionally, "Ahmed's Diaries" has won the Silver in the New York Festivals' United Nations Department of Public Information Awards announced June 28th. Ahmed is now based in the United States.
