Dick Gordon spoke with Marge West on February 25 about how coal bed methane extraction had transformed her ranch in Wyoming. This method of natural gas extraction draws water out from underground aquifers. Sometimes the water is effectively treated or contained in reservoirs. On Marge's ranch, the water flooded Spotted Horse Creek, ruined hay fields, and destroyed an old stand of cottonwood trees.
