Dick Gordon spoke with Maryanne Kamau and her cousin, Peter Kamau Waweru, on January 23, 2008. When fighting broke out on their farm in western Kenya, two members of the family were killed, Peter's brother Patrick, and his nephew, Stephen. The family returned to the farm for the burial on January 15. The woman holding the photograph is Stephen's mother, Maryanne's sister.
