Cathy Wilkerson
Dick Gordon spoke with Cathy Wilkerson on November 1, 2007. Cathy was an anti-war activist in the 1960s. As the Vietnam War continued, she became convinced that violence was a legitimate form of protest and joined Weatherman, a militant group that was attracting many angry young people. On March 6, 1970, Cathy was with 4 others in a New York City townhouse when a bomb they were building exploded accidentally. Cathy was one of two who survived. She spent years in hiding, wanted by the FBI. In 1980, she turned herself in.
