Dust in Cottonwood Canyon
A semi truck drives down the winding dirt road through the canyon, kicking up dust and chemicals as it drives along. The speed limit is 20 mph, but not all vehicles obey that limit. When clouds of dust float through the air, it lands on the walls of the canyon - often caking over many of the petroglyphs and archaeological sites.
