"Yonus"
When Eric first got to Ethiopia, his assignment was to photograph people with HIV/AIDS. At that time, in 1999, the disease was still highly stigmatized. The first person Eric was able to speak with openly was this man, who he calls Yonus. This method of taking portraits without revealing the subject's identity became a rewarding method for Eric moving forward.
