Me and Renee Dancing (2004)

This is one of Beverly's latest paintings. It celebrates the bond Beverly and her sister, Renee, share. "Probably in the last six months I've come to love Renee in a very different way than I loved her before," Beverly explains. "I don't have kids so I can't speak to that. But it is something maternal in that way that I'm really protective of her and I love her and I'm concerned about her well-being. And I think the only other person that I've ever felt that way about is my mother."
