A Fallen Soldier

From left, Chaplain Jeff Bryan, his armed assistant and Sgt. Chris Messer. Chaplain Bryan became very close to 24-year-old Sgt. Messer in Iraq. "He was in Iraq more than once," Chaplain Bryan said. "He told me many times he was going to die. The morning of his fourth wedding anniversary his small group was ambushed and he died a short time after. When that happens, you go 'that is why I am out there.' He’s my hero."
