Free-diving wife and husband duo Mandy-Rae Cruickshank and Kirk Krack have always felt a connection to the water. But it wasn't until they got involved with the filming of a new documentary The Cove, which captures the slaughter of dolphins off the coast of Japan, that they became true environmentalists.
Mandy-Rae and Kirk talk with Dick Gordon about the dangers they faced diving into dark waters to capture footage of a dolphin net operation. And the dangers they faced on land from officials determined to continue their lucrative practices.

As Americans mourn the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy, many remember how he touched their lives. Growing up as the son of a Mississippi preacher, Jeffrey Thomas began to notice elaborate velvet paintings of the Kennedys hanging on parishioners' walls. After graduating college he landed a job as a legislative aide to Ted Kennedy. Jeffrey says one of the most terrifying moments of his career unfolded when he forgot to pack an important memo for the senator. He tells Dick how being given a second chance redefined his career.

Rose's Garden
Peter Reynolds
Peter Reynolds is also mourning the loss of Senator Kennedy. He remembers when, as a seven year old, he first heard Ted Kennedy's voice - quivering at the funeral of his brother Bobby. As an adult, Peter got the opportunity to meet Ted Kennedy, and the two men ended up having an unexpected connection. Peter talks with Dick about his tribute to the Kennedy family - a forthcoming children's book called Rose's Garden.
