RESTORING THE SOUNDTRACK OF NEW ORLEANS
Volunteer musicians have exchanged their instruments for hammers and are working together to gut homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Starting first with fellow musicians, the Arabi Wrecking Krewe has helped those who play in local clubs and jazz greats like Fats Domino. With 178,000 flood-ravaged houses, they have their work cut out for them.

Dick talks with Arabi Wrecking Krewe founder, and fifth generation New Orleans trumpeter, Armand “Sheik” Richardson and one of his current clients, jazz banjo great, Don Vappie. The two men share stories and music. What they call “restoring the soundtrack of New Orleans”.
