Eloisa's new Wall
Eloisa Tamez
The Department of Homeland Security has plans to put the U.S./Mexico border fence right through Eloisa Tamez' land in Texas. Eloisa's three-acre property is the last remnant of a large land grant given to her family by the king of Spain in the 18th century.Â
Eloisa has always been a woman who is not afraid to take a stand. But she now faces one of the most daunting challenges of her life.Â

A few weeks ago Dick spoke with David Hutton. David has been raising chickens in his backyard. But he's squeamish about eating the birds, and David's wife won't touch the eggs. Farmer Lindsay Harris wrote in after listening to that interview to tell us her story.
Lindsay wrote: "I was not at all surprised that his wife couldn't stomach the eggs raised right there, instead preferring factory-raised eggs. I have thought about and experimented with this connection. I've gone from McDonald's enthusiast to vegetarian to hunter to farmer in 33 short years. My next step is to learn how to humanely slaughter and butcher large animals I have raised with love."
Lindsay tells Dick about her first attempt at raising piglets, and what it was like to bring them to the slaughterhouse.
