A MOM'S TAKE ON CHILDHOOD OBESITY

Daphne Logue and Sarah

On Monday, Dick Gordon talked to Shaun Goode, who is 9, and his grandmother, Deborah. Shaun is obese and is now trying to become healthier.

Today, Dick talks to Daphne Logue. Daphne's child, Sarah Peters-Logue, is 6 years old. Daphne knew her daughter was becoming obese, but her family doctor said that Sarah would "grow into it." In desperation, Daphne rejected her doctor's advice, and eventually had to face the fact that the problem was not her child, but herself.

Find out more about the fitness program Daphne is involved with

Hear Dick's interview with Shaun Goode

Add to story

YOUR STORY - Dave Ignatius Norris

Dave Norris

Sometimes curiosity can lead you to the strangest places. That's what happened to David Ignatius Norris when he got curious about the uncle he was named after.

Dave knew his middle name, Ignatius, came from his mother's brother. Uncle Dave had served on a submarine during World War II. That submarine was presumed lost.

Dave was determined to learn more, and he did. He joins Dick to talk about life, loss, and solving the mystery of his middle name.

See some photos from Dave's quest

Find out more about the USS Grayling

add to story
