BLUE RIBBON AWARD
When Anthony Smith became principal at Cincinnati’s Taft
High School , it was the worst performing school in the state. Today, the principal is in Washington DC accepting a Blue Ribbon Award on behalf of the school, renamed Taft Information Technology High School. Now, 95% of the students graduate. Principal Smith didn’t clean house to make sweeping changes. He kept the teachers, and created a dynamic partnership with local CEO Jack Cassidy and Cincinnati Bell.
