SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE SEARCH FOR HOME
For the past couple of weeks we’ve been running a series of stories called At Home. As a part of the series, we’re exploring how people are finding a place to live in the midst of a difficult housing market. Three years ago, Chris J. had a job, a house, three cars and a year's worth of savings. Today, he is homeless. But Chris is finding a new community through his blog and a Twitter account. Chris thought by sharing his experiences he would gather a few followers. Little did he know that it would provide him with community and even a room to call his own.

DANNY BOY coincidences
Most people are familiar with the song Danny Boy, and while it’s really more of a lament than a love song, for Dick’s guest, it was the music that led her into love. Kathy Misun grew up in a family where music was very important. Her dad was a singer, and would sing Danny Boy often for Kathy’s mother. Years later Kathy was divorced and new to the dating scene. And while she was dating a new man, one she really liked, she kept hearing that song Danny Boy in the most unusual places.
- Music in this story: several versions of the song Danny boy including performances by Art Tatum for the album Art Tatum Solo Masterpieces, Vol 6; the Eastman-Rochester "Pops" Orchestra & Frederick Fennel for the album Frederick Fennell Conducts; Eva Cassidy for the album Imagine; Sarah Vaughan for the album It's a Man's World and Kevin McMahon for the album Mirror.
OPEN MIC: GOLDEN YEARS
Just before Labor Day Dick talked with some friends who call themselves The Bikini Team. The women had made a pledge to wear bikinis no matter their age. The women are now in their 50s and 60s. At that time, we asked listeners “What is something you’ve pledged to do through your Golden Years?” Today, Anne from Vineland, New Jersey tells her story.
