Soldier Soundtracks to War
The music that’s loaded on a soldier’s iPod is a part of each person’s survival strategy. Jake Warga is an independent radio producer who spent time in Iraq with U.S. troops. While he was there, he asked soldiers what music they loaded into their iPods. Today we’ll share a half dozen of the stories in a series called Soldier Soundtracks to War.

A PROMISE FROM WORLD WAR I
Rick Coxen's grandfather served in World War I. When Rick came into possession of his grandfather's things, he came across a journal and a letter. The letter details a promise he'd made to his wartime comrades, one he never had a chance to fulfill. Rick is now trying to keep the promise that was made close to a century ago.
